It's been two years since we last heard from the Danish super quintet Kulú in connection with their critically acclaimed debut album 'Lucidity'.
Now the wait is finally over for fans of the distinctive, dramatic, alluring and redemptive rock music that Kúlú has made its hallmark.
The new single 'Renegade' shows that the group still knows exactly what they are doing, what they want and where they want to go as they grab the instruments and unite in an expression where each member knows what he can contribute with in order to create the best result. You can clearly feel and hear that we are dealing with experienced forces.
Kúlú thus continue their classy journey through a deserted rock terrain, in which they navigate as confidently and sonically convincing as ever. It is music with enough room to play and frolic in.
The band states:
"'Renegade' is a song about resetting your life after you have come to a realization of who you are."
Kúlu consists of experienced forces on the danish music scene:
Asger Techau (Kashmir), Søren Sunding (Heimatt, Asger Techau Band), Dennis Winterskov (Ave, Deerborn), Torben Guldager (Christian Hjelm, Katinka Band, Mom & Bear), Daniel Buchwald (Deerborn, Arbirk).
'Renegade' will be released June 14th on Celebration Records.
lyrics
I’m back in the basement
The heavy heels are there once again
I found myself way under my skin
Dreaming of you with another man
The heels are heavier now
One of those coffee mornings
The voice seems more grave
I look under the bed for my wings
Now I Can try to monetize
My mind Without being afraid
I Can try inhale
A reefer Without being a renegade
Take out your violin
And play me that serenade
I’ll take out my alter ego
So you can put it away
away away away away
I want to hear that tone
That I never understood
I want to sing that note
In the way I should
Now I’ll try to fly away
High as a kite everyday
It’s time to foz my murk
I’ll Dance ballet and disobey
Take out your violin
And play me that serenade
I’ll take out my alter ego
So you can put it away
away away away away
I want to hear that tone
That I never understood
I want to sing that note
In the way I should
