It testifies to Kúlu's unwillingness to compromise and a total devotion to the terms of music to release a song clocking in close to 12-minutes long as a single.

It starts with a march-like groove and an almost stadium-rock sounding guitar figure. After this, the track undergoes a magnificent and dramatic development. Caressing acoustic fingerplay, while ambient textures flutter like ghosts in the background before lead singer Dennis Winterskov messingly proclaims: »I wrap up your absence so that I can breathe«

And then the massive finale occurs, where you are whirled around in a maelstrom of a hypnotic noise loop - not unlike The Beatles' 'I Want You (She's So Heavy)'.

'Absence' is an enchanting reminder of what rock music can do when executed consistently and with an expression that leaves no shadow of doubt that the band knows exactly how to present the music.
